The MI Amplification Iron Duke is a British voiced, 50W, EL-34 based work-horse of an amplifier. With four foot-switchable sounds from full-bodied clean, fat vintage plexi purr, chunky overdrive, or liquid leads, the “Duke” will do it all!
The Iron Duke was designed with both stage and rehearsal in mind. The class A/B power amplifier is built around a pair of EL34s, and delivers 50W of clean output power, with a switchable low power mode limiting the Iron Duke’s output power to 25W. This range of output power is perfect for hitting the Iron Duke’s sweet-spot in a typical gigging scenario.
The ‘4 channel’ preamp (in fact, 2 independent channels with a foot-switchable gain boost) can produce the whole suite of British inspired tones, from clean to scream. But unlike the standard British designs (and their various derivates), the Iron Duke can be tuned to work with virtually any guitar and pickup thanks to independent BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE, along with BRIGHT or ATTACK switches.. Added to this already amazingly flexible design, each of the 4 “channels” can be further hot-rodded with the independent ‘mod’ switches, for a total of 8 different preamp voicings.
Each channel, and its respective BOOST mode, has a MOD switch that can provide that little hot-rodded kick when you feel like turning it up to 11! In Channel 1, MOD on, the bass and lower mids are boosted to give a perfect platform for any overdrive pedal whereas the Channel 2 BOOST MOD adds even more gain and harmonics reminiscent of the most sought after guitar hero tones. All four MOD modes provide a total of eight different preamp voices to choose from.
This amazingly flexible design goes another step further with a unique power-amp/negative feedback control, featuring DEPTH, PRESENCE and a three-way DEPTH RANGE switch extending the low-end and low-mids to add even more body to the base guitar tone. Every combination will satisfy the most insatiable British-amp enthusiast, to cover any era of rock be it recording, rehearsal or on stage.
Finally, we’ve included a series insert FX loop to help you integrate your effects with all the tones from The Duke making this amp the complete package!

CONTROLS
2 Independent Channels – Clean & Overdrive
Independent EQ’s – Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume
Footswitchable Gain Boost per channel with an independent volume control (B. VOLUME)
4 MOD switches –
(1) Un-boosted clean mode – Changes the frequency response of the clean to extend the low end to make it work even better with overdrive pedals.
(2, 3, 4) Boosted clean, Un-boosted overdrive, Boosted overdrive – 80’s hot-rod adds more saturation. You’ll need to increase the Volume or Boost Volume to compensate for the extra saturation.
Bright Switch (Unboosted Clean channel) – 3 position – allows more control over the clean channels sparkle
Attack Switch (Unboosted and Boosted Overdrive) – 3 position – set this to match your guitar. Generally, humbuckers sound good set to “1” or “2”, while single-coil pickups sound better set to “0” or “1”
Depth Range switch, for tuning the effective frequency range of the Depth control (100Hz, 300Hz, 1kHz).
Depth – for adjusting the low frequency response of the power amp.
Presence – for adjusting the top end detail of the power amp.
FX Loop – passive insert FX Loop
2 button Footswitch (Included) – Channel Select, Boost on/off.
Ability to accept KT77, EL34 and 6CA7 power tubes
